Dorothy Puchreiter, age 90, of Duluth passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Proctor. She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Crosby, Minn., to Mary and Peter Vranish.
She attended Junior College and began her banking career in Crosby. Dorothy married Charles Puchreiter in Crosby on July 31, 1943, and continued her career after moving to Brainerd. They moved to Duluth in 1956 where she was employed by the First National Bank (now Wells Fargo). She worked in many departments and retired from there as an Assistant V.P. in 1986.
She and Charles traveled around the U.S. and to many foreign countries.
Dorothy was an active member of the Duluth Lioness, Ladies of the Elks, American Legion Auxiliary #71, Lakeside AARP, Duluth Business and Professional Women’s Club, as well as a member of the Serbian Sisters at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, four brothers: Sam, John, Robert and George; four sisters: Eva Perovich, Elsie Untiedt, Mary Callisto and Ruby Zauhar. She is survived by a sister, Donalda Snyder of Vista, CA.; many nieces and nephews, and their families; and friends.
Visitation: 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Dougherty Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
