Patrick was born and raised in Sterling, Ill.
He was a long time employee of Al Johnson Construction working on many building projects all across the country. But his real passion was his service to his country. Patrick was a military man through and through. He served in the army where he spent time in Berlin, Germany as a medic. He was very active with the VFW (Duluth Post 137) where he served for many years as Post Commander, District 8 Adjutant and heading the Voice of Democracy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl A. and Roberta D. Olson; brother David and wife Patricia.
He is survived by his special partner of 10 years Miss Penny Siven; sister Sally Vanderbleek (Clarence); brother Terry Olson (Judy); daughter Mary Kirsling (Tom); son John Barnett (Nancy); several nieces and nephews and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: will be scheduled for a later date in Duluth.
