Northern Minnesota’s only gynecologic cancer specialist has joined Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic.
Dr. Colleen Evans grew up in Silver Bay and is a 1996 graduate of William Kelly High School.
Evans said she believes there is a need for her specialty in the Northland.
“It’s a huge burden for women to travel to gynecologic oncologists in the Twin Cities or Rochester, so I’m eager to practice in Duluth and relieve some of that burden,” she said in a news release. “I discuss the different options and help guide them to whatever option is right for a woman and her family.”
Evans earned her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
