Bids presented to the School Board last night to replace the roof were nearly $130,000 higher than architects estimated last November.
News Tribune, Aug. 15, 1993 About 40 youths from the Catholic Diocese of Duluth became ill yesterday at the World Youth Day ’93 conference in Denver. Gloria Burnett, a diocesan spokeswoman, said the illnesses were caused by heat exhaustion, altitude sickness and dehydration. Steelworkers at Eveleth Mines reported to work yesterday, even though their contract extension ended without a solution to disputes with company officials. The approximately 460 employees have been working under contract extensions since Aug. 1 when their contract expired.
