The St. Luke’s Inpatient Cardiac Services team recently took home an award for excellence based on patient feedback.
The unit received a Five Star Excellence Award for 2013 from Professional Research Consultants. The award is given to the top 10 percent of organizations nationally based on patient feedback the previous year.
“The staff has done a lot of great things to really improve the overall quality of care,” Julie Clark, nurse manager for the cardiac unit, said in a release. “It takes a lot for patients to say their experience was ‘excellent,’ so this award is a tribute to the outstanding nursing care that they receive and is a recognition of everyone — nurses, nursing aides, unit secretaries, medical providers and support staff.”
The unit was also recently given a 2012 Platinum Award from the American College of Cardiology for its treatment of heart attack patients and was named in U.S. News and World Report’s 2013 Best Hospitals Guide for its patient care.
