Thanks to the couple who spoke out about an offensive billboard (“Couple takes offense to ‘plumber’s butt,’” June 25).
Since the Minnesota Department of Health is spending our tax dollars to offend some of us and to give young people the wrong impression of what to expose, I too will send them off an outcry.
Children are exposed to too much nudity at every turn and allowed from early childhood to wear attire that is too revealing.
I for one am tired of all the blatant disregard for the type of attire both men (with their pants below their buttocks to show their underwear) and women (short, short skirts and low cut blouses with undergarments showing as well) are wearing and especially get upset when the government thinks nothing of using our money to have ads like this one.
Whatever happened to moral decency?
The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed covering its butt-crack billboard with this white box the last week in June.
Spokesman Scott Smith said the health department wanted to see if the white box covering the butt would help the billboard get more attention and keep it in the news. "So far, it has worked," he said.
The Budgeteer also received an anonymous letter about the billboard and reminds readers that we will not print your letters unless you sign your name (and provide a phone number for us to confirm that you did indeed write a letter).
