Novarae Athena Laravorich
I WAS BORN: April 12, 2013, in Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
MY PARENTS ARE: Desiree Gregorich and Leith Larsen-Ravenfeather of Duluth.
MY SISTER IS: Lily, 3.
MY GRANDPARENTS ARE: Debbie Gregorich, Tim Gregorich, Kelly Ravenfeather and John Larsen, all of Duluth.
MY GREAT-GRANDPARENTS ARE: Lavone and George Gregorich and Leroy Patnaude, all of Duluth; Jerry Larsen of Minnetonka, Minn.; and Gary Tudor of Red Bluff, Calif.
MY PARENTS CHOSE THIS NAME BECAUSE: Novarae is the combination of “Nova,” or “new star,” and “Rae,” which means “beautiful in appearance and composure.” My middle name was the Greek goddess of wisdom. My name is perfect to symbolize my feminine beauty and power.
PARENTS’ WISH OR ADVICE: We wish that you always behold the wonder of the world and uphold the beauty and power symbolized by your strong name.
SOMETHING SPECIAL: After weeks of pre-labor, you made it clear that April 12 was your day! True labor came on in the morning, strong and with purpose. We drove to the hospital during a snow storm and you were with us by lunch time.
