The “plumber’s butt” billboard is neither offensive, indecent, nor lewd … it is funny, and it draws one’s attention to the health message on the billboard.
The couple who wrote a letter to the editor about the billboard with an exposed buttocks apparently find the exposed crack of a worker’s butt sexually titillating. I recall that they also found the uniforms worn by Olympic competitors provocative and sexually suggestive. Personally, I appreciate the beauty of a well-trained athlete’s body, and also also see the humor in the “accidental” display of a less-than-well-trained body, as portrayed on the billboard (and in every edition of the “Duluth Trading Post” catalog).
I don’t claim to be the expert on God that this couple seems to be, but I do believe that He gave us all a sense of humor, and the ability to laugh. Keep the billboard, as is.
