Eh? Bread and Torah Project
By: News Tribune staff, Duluth News Tribune
The Eh? desk has long lamented the dearth of good bagels in our fair region.
So the opportunity presented by the first annual Ilene Levin Scholars-in-
Residence Program is particularly intriguing.
Temple Israel in Duluth, 1602 E. Second St., is hosting Rabbis Linda Motzkin and Jonathon Rubenstein, of Temple Sinai in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and founders of the Bread and Torah Project.
At 6:45 p.m. today, learn to make bagels, help make a Torah scroll and learn about Jewish teachings and practices.
At 2 p.m. Friday, learn how to bake a challah. Participants get to bring home the goods. After that, at 4 p.m. there’s a study session with the rabbis and 5:30 p.m. Shabbat services. At 9:15 a.m. Saturday, there’s a Torah study with 10 a.m. services.
