News Tribune, June 25, 1973 More air-monitoring equipment was set up late yesterday in Duluth as part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s continuing investigation into a possible asbestos-pollution problem in the area. Similar monitoring devices have already been set up at Silver Bay. Eighteen-year-old Jeff Sogard, delighting a home-course Enger Park gallery, sank a 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole yesterday to win the Reidar Lund Memorial Skyline golf tournament. Sogard, the youngest Skyline champion ever, edged Charlie Jensen by one shot.
News Tribune, June 25, 1993 Duluth homeowners will see the assessed value of their homes jump 10 percent this year. The change, ordered this week by the Minnesota Department of Revenue, marks the second year in a row that values have increased by 10 percent in Duluth. Over 100 artists and crafts people will have their wares on display and for sale this weekend at the Park Point Recreation Area during the 23rd annual Park Point Art Fair. Paintings, ceramics, drawings, textiles and furniture will all be displayed.
