The Duluth Grill and its sustainable ways will be the subject of this week’s West Duluth Business Club monthly luncheon that’s open to the public.
Tom Hanson, the restaurant’s co-owner, will talk about his business’s increasingly green approach. Hanson, and his wife, Jaima, have transformed the restaurant at 27th Avenue West off Interstate 35 in Duluth into a healthy, locally sourced eatery. Some of the vegetables are grown right outside in their raised-bed parking lot gardens.
They say the transition has changed not only the way they think but also the way they serve and provide food for their customers. Duluth Grill and its neighboring businesses have begun to work together to build a stronger community through projects that have taken on a life of their own, they say.
The hourlong luncheon begins at noon Wednesday at Mr. D’s Bar & Grill’s banquet room, 5622 Grand Ave. in West Duluth. Cost is the cost of lunch off the menu. Reservations are encouraged by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
