Smoothie Success!Smoothies introduced to Sibley breakfast with great results.

On the morning of March 8th, 205 students stopped by the cafeteria to pick up one of the newest menu items at Henry Sibley High School: the Sibley Smoothie. This marked the third week in a row of serving more than 175 smoothies in one morning. Considering the average daily breakfast participation is 300 students, this is quite remarkable. The smoothie story started back in the spring of 2012, when several students provided their suggestions for the breakfast menu at a wellness committee meeting. From there, the idea was discussed with food service staff, recipes were developed, and taste testings with students were conducted. Using the students’ favorite flavors, the new smoothie station debuted to a line of students stretching all the way down to the opposite end of the building from the cafeteria. The new smoothies are simply one of many new breakfast items being introduced to the high school’s breakfast menu as a reimbursable meal. We encourage all students to come check out the smoothies this Friday and the other new items as well.
