Lloyd “L.K.” Kenneth Anderson, 91, of Proctor, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with heart and lung problems complicated by the flu.
He was born in Fosston, Minn., April 15, 1922, to Arthur and Alma (Olson) Anderson. He grew up on the farm where he worked and also learned carpentry. He moved to Proctor in 1950 to work for the D.M.&I.R. and retired as a conductor. Lloyd served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later joined the See Bee Engineers Reserves. From there he transferred to the Air Guards until he retired as an E8. Lloyd loved to tease and have fun but was a taskmaster at work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alma; sister Adeline Bijold; and nephews Brian and Renee Bijold.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vina; sons Craig (Debbie), Keith, Todd (LeeAnn), and Wayne (Deb); sister Norma Hazelton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, in First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave., and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, May 15, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 614 Second St., Proctor, with the Rev. Mark Osthus officiating. Entombment will be at Sunrise Cemetery. Military Honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.
