For homeowners eager to crunch the numbers, a free workshop Tuesday at the Central Hillside Community Center may be up your alley.
The workshop, from 6-8:30 p.m. at 12 E. Fourth St., will focus on homeowners’ escrow accounts and what causes monthly house payments to go up or down.
The class will address property taxes and assessments, homeowner’s insurance and escrow account services.

It will also cover the difference between “Homestead Market Value Exclusion” versus the former “Homestead Tax Credit,” special programs that could reduce tax burdens, factors that can cause insurance premiums to change, escrow account adjustments and much more.
Presenters will include the assistant St. Louis County assessor and local home insurance and loan servicing professionals.
