Spirit Mountain hosting Spring Break Fiesta today

Spirit Mountain is hosting its Spring Break Fiesta in the snow today.

The celebration includes a scavenger hunt, barrel jumping, a mascot dance-off and water-skipping, among other family-friendly events, a Spirit Mountain news release said.

It will culminate with races at 4:30 p.m. — a plastic sled race, a cardboard box race and a furniture race. Bring your own sleds and creations.

All of the fiesta events are free. Skiing and snowboarding are open, but purchase of a daily lift ticket is required.

Spirit Mountain is scheduled to be open through March 31, depending on snow conditions. The slopes currently have a base of 24 to 36 inches of snow.
