RICHARD J. OPFERKEW

Richard J. Opferkew, 61, passed away on March 11, 2013 at his home.

He graduated from Denfeld High School and worked as a butcher in Grafton, N.D. before returning to Duluth and worked for Sam's Club.

He was an avid sports fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings; as well as a season ticket holder for the Duluth Huskies and the Duluth Superior Dukes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lorraine Opferkew and brother Tom.

He is surivived by his wife, Susan; son, Dr. Rodney (Gretchen) Opferkew of St. Louis Park, Minn.; daughters, Robyn (Chris) Baglien of Crookston, Minn. and Jodi Opferkew of Jamestown, N.D.; step-son, Sam (Nikki) Fedo of North Branch, Minn.; sister, Judy (Denny) Dufour of Superior, WI.; a very precious granddaughter, Destiny.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service Saturday, March 16 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Avenue.
