Frank and Yvonne Layne of Duluth will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by having lunch with their family.

Frank and the former Yvonne Nesgoda were married March 16, 1963, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Duluth.

Their children are Mark and Kelly Layne of Saginaw; Celeste and Greg Plunkett of Superior; Kathleen and Joe Cuffe of Hibbing; and Jenifer and Mike Knudsen of Duluth. They have nine grandchildren.

Frank retired as a Senior Master Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force and from the AFL-CIO in Duluth. Yvonne is a homemaker and retired food demonstrator and lay counselor for the anti-abortion movement.

Secret to staying married: Prayer and patience.
