Lillian Salo, 94, of Pike Lake, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in her home.
Lillian was born May 1, 1918, in Duluth, to Florence Garceau and Clarence O’Malley. She graduated from Central High School and then met and married Edward “Red” Salo.
Lillian was a member of St. Raphael’s Church in Pike Lake and she was a former member of its Woman’s Guild and TOPS. She loved cooking and taking care of Red, but most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Florence; father Clarence; and her husband of 60 years, Edward “Red Salo.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Patricia (David) Ardoff of Bloomington, Minn., and their children, Frederick (Tracy) and Christopher; son Fred (Ginny) Salo of Culver, and their children, Scott (Lisa), Stacie (Bill) Marsolek, Christa (Matt DeFuniak) Salo and Stephanie (Chris) Grgurich; daughter Victoria (Dr. Jay) Wilson of Richfield, Minn., and their children, Kristine and Jennifer (Andrew) Fisher; great-grandchildren Blake, Zachary, Caden, Carter and Avery; and her sister, Karen McDonald, of Kerrick.
VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. with 5 p.m. Wake prayers Friday, March 15, in the Dougherty Funeral Home and 12 noon until the 1 p.m. Mass of Christian burial Saturday, March 16, in St. Raphael’s Church, 5779 Seville Road in Pike Lake. Burial will be at Canosia Cemetery.
