SHANE ERVIN FISHER

Shane Ervin Fischer, 30, of Hermantown and formerly of New Ulm died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Hibbing.

Shane Ervin Fischer, the son of Kelvin and Judy (Sprenger) Fischer, was born on Feb. 18, 1982 in New Ulm.

He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Schools in New Ulm and was a 2000 graduate of the Cathedral High School in New Ulm. After graduation Shane worked at various places around New Ulm before moving to Hermantown where he was an ironworker for Dynamic Steel. He recently joined the Ironworkers Local 512 of which he was very proud of. He remained employed there up until his death.

Shane was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt deer, bear and other wildlife. He was known for manufacturing his own bows which he used for hunting. He also loved to fish and four wheel. Shane spent most of his life in the outdoors. When he wasn’t hunting he enjoyed walking along the Minnesota and Cottonwood Rivers. Many of the times he had his greatest companions, his dogs, Zeitgeist and Gunner. While living in the New Ulm area Shane was a member of the Nicollet Conservation Club. He also had his own Bear Guide Service “The Zone” in the Orr area. He taught many people the sportsmanship of hunting. Amongst all of his loves, his greatest was his daughter Quinn; she was his pride and joy. Even though he won’t be with her, he will live on through her.

Shane was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ervin Fischer.

Shane is survived by daughter, Quinn Katherine Fischer of Hibbing; his parents, Kelvin and Judy Fischer of New Ulm; sisters, Jessica Fischer (Peter Hoffmann) of New Ulm, Michelle (Matthew) Cartier of Hermantown, Danielle Fischer (Kyle Marti) of Cambria; grandparents, Anton and Rose Ann Sprenger of New Ulm; grandmother, Marian Fischer of Sleepy Eye; special friend, Alyssa Hannuksela, of Eveleth; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Keaton, Maggie, North, and Ada; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also surviving are close family friends Sarah Kangas of Hibbing, John Scherr of New Ulm and many many other close friends.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father Brian Oestreich celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, North Chapel, in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 9 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials.
