MARGARET "MARG" LUBINA RADOSEVICH

Margaret “Marg“ Lubina Radosevich, Duluth and Two Harbors, passed away Feb. 21, 2013.

Margaret was born in Duluth on May 27, 1925.

She attended St. Michael's, Kenwood, and St. Anthony's grade schools. She attended Stanbrook Hall on scholarship, graduating in 1942. She worked for the telephone company from 1943 until the day Tony proposed to her in 1951. She married Tony Paul Radosevich on May 5, 1951.

Margaret was active in DFL politics, working in the 8th District DFL office during political campaigns in the 50’s and 60’s, and serving on the executive committee of the Young Democrats of Minnesota. Margaret was active in the Council of Catholic Women, especially in raising funds for the work of the Maryknolls in East Africa. She was appointed by Gov. Rudy Perpich to two terms on the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. She loved to write, and for many years had a regular column in the Register and the Co-op newspaper.

She and Tony owned and operated the Earthwood Inn motel and restaurant in Two Harbors. They raised seven children, encouraging a love of family and for all to pursue travel, politics, sports, the arts, and career. Marg opened her home and heart to many AFS students and teachers. She and Tony traveled widely, visiting family and friends in England, Costa Rica, Japan, Hong Kong, East Africa, and across the United States.

Margaret was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors, the Minnesota Literary Society, Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 550, and Slovenian Women's Union Branch 33. She was a life member of the Friends of the Two Harbors Library, active in community theater in Two Harbors and active in St. John’s Parish when she lived in Duluth.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her parents, Anton Andrew Lubina and Elizabeth Zion (Zajac) Lubina; brothers- and sisters-in-law, John and Frances Radosevich, Mary and Jim Chakel, and Stanley Radosevich; nephew, John and niece Mary Ann Radosevich.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Radosevich, Houston, Zora Radosevich, St. Paul, Lisa (John) Radosevich-Craig, Duluth, Stacy (Paul Belsito) Radosevich, Duluth, William (Terre Thomas) Radosevich, Minneapolis, Pete (Tara) Radosevich, Esko and Todd Radosevich, San Diego; honorary daughter, Lorrie (Sharon Chadwick) Janatopolous, Eveleth; and AFS son, Stephen Lord, London, England; grandchildren, Bhupesh, Jitesh, and Reshma Pattni; Jami, Adam and Maggie Reilly; Tony, Joe and Sam Belsito; Tommy and Patrick Radosevich; and Austen Kovac; sisters, Dorothy (Leonard) Gloeb, St. Paul, and Marie Rose (Clarence) Nessett, Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Dorothy (John) Menke, New Brighton; godchildren, Michael Scarcella, Patrick Finucane, Kathy Radosevich, Jay Milosevich, David Ossell, Ellen Watters; and many loving nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with Rosary at 5 p.m. in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Two Harbors, Minn. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Duluth.
