Glenn Oscar Koski, 68, died peacefully Feb. 16, 2013 in the Heritage of Foley Nursing Center, Foley, Minn.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1944 in Duluth.
Glenn graduated from Esko High School in 1962 and attended UMD until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After a tour of duty in Vietnam, he worked for Weyerhauser Co. in Cloquet before starting a 30 year career in real estate, owning and managing Red Barn Realty, Century 21 Lake Superior, and Lake Superior Properties.
To most friends and colleagues, Glenn will be remembered as an ardent sailor and skipper of the San Juan 24, "Gypsy" and then later the Peterson 34, "Foxy". A former commodore of the Duluth Yacht Club, Glenn also tutored dozens of today's boat owners, skippers and crew on the art of competitive sailing. He completed 10 Trans Superior Races.
He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Kaino (Kultala) Koski.
He is survived by two sons, Phillip (William) and Vincent; sister, Marigold Bayer; niece, Eleanor (Eric) Falk, all of Minneapolis, former wife, friend and caregiver, Betty.
The family thanks the staff of Foley Nursing Center for the care they provided Glenn over the past year.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: will be held in mid March in Duluth.
