Jeannie Stubenvoll of Duluth and Michael Schumacher of Arden Hills, Minn., plan to be married Aug. 24 in Church of Assumption in St. Paul.
Her parents are Robert Stubenvoll of Duluth and Leslie Stubenvoll of San Diego. His parents are Dennis and Audrey Schumacher of Arden Hills.
The future bride, a 2004 graduate of Marshall School in Duluth, graduated from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., with a bachelor’s degree in biology and from the college of St. Scholastica with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
The future groom, a 2005 graduate of Totino Grace High School in Fridley, Minn., graduated from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn., in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in finance, and is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. He is a financial consultant for United Health Group in Minnetonka, Minn.
Mike proposed in February 2012 on the beaches of Negril, Jamaica. While Mike and I took a sunset stroll, his brother Luke and his fiance Tina (both registered nurses in Duluth) set up a romantic scene in the sand with flowers and champagne. To my surprise a beautiful display was waiting upon our return.
As we were enjoying a magical Jamaican sunset, Mike got down on one knee and proposed. Moments later his family jumped out from behind some nearby palm trees and began cheering while the hotel employees gave us a round of applause. His other brother John, sister-in-law Aimee and his parents Audrey and Dennis were there to celebrate the night away in true Schumacher fashion.
