Tonight’s “Doctors on Call” program is all about cancer.

The half-hour call-in program, featuring a panel of medical experts, begins at 7 on PBS North, Channels 8.1 and 31.1. This week’s host is Dr. Alan Johns.

It will be followed at 7:30 by the mental-health program “Speak Your Mind.” This week’s topic is “Living with Chronic Pain.”

Trauma care verified

Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center has been re-verified as a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center.

It’s the only hospital in the region verified for pediatric trauma by the American College of Surgeons, an Essentia Health news release said.

To be verified, a hospital must demonstrate it has 24/7 emergency room and surgical services, 24/7 on-call availability of a variety of specialists, advanced life support available on air transport, a full spectrum of acute critical care services for children and adults and in-house laboratory testing, the news release said.
