The concept for a Duluth-based gaming convention that originally fell short of its Kickstarter goal has been pared down and re-launched.

This time, the idea man behind Berserkon has set a goal of raising $9,950 before March 4. Local gaming aficionado Kevin Mickelson is offering memorabilia, admission to the convention and opportunities to play with big names in gaming circles.

Mickelson is proposing a small-scale GenCon-like convention May 24-26 that includes vendors, gaming celebs, a StarCity Games Invitational Qualifier for Magic: The Gathering and other board game events like Munchkin, Pokemon, Descent, Catan and more.

Berserkon was more than halfway to its goal by midafternoon Wednesday. To learn more, go to kickstarter.com.
