Joseph “Joe” Robert Brown, 55, of Pike Lake, passed away Jan. 4, 2013, doing what he loved, riding his dirt bike.
Joseph “Joe” Robert Brown, 55, of Pike Lake, passed away Jan. 4, 2013, doing what he loved, riding his dirt bike.
He was born in Duluth on Aug. 20, 1957, to Thomas and Shirley Brown. Joe was a 1975 graduate of Proctor High School. He married Cindy Oakland in Duluth on Feb. 9, 1980. Joe was founder/co-owner and operator of Twin Ports Concrete Pumping. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Assn., and co-founder of the Northland Motorcycle Riders Assn. Joe enjoyed his family, friends, work and cabin to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Marilyn Oakland.
Joe is survived by his wife, Cindy, daughters Amy (Sean) Holmgren and Angie Brown, very precious granddaughter Harper Holmgren, brothers Thomas (Sherri) and James (Susan), father-in-law, Loren Oakland, all of Duluth, sister Susan (Floyd) Carow, Winneconne, WI, and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation: 11 a.m. with service following at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, 2105 Woodland Ave., Duluth. Interment at Sunrise Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier-Boettcher Funeral Home.
