DREW WILLIAM CHRISTIE

Drew William Christie, 66, died on Dec. 26th in the loving care of his wife Patti at their home.

He was born May 29, 1946 in Duluth, graduated from Duluth East High School in 1964, attended college at UMD and DBU and worked for Arrowhead Equipment as Accountant and Office Manager. Drew was proud to serve our country with the U.S. Army and served active duty in Vietnam.

Drew enjoyed company and laughter. Life at the cabin was filled with both. Family, friends and strangers were always welcome. He loved traveling with Patti, fishing with his sons, shooting pool with the gang at Mr. Lucky’s, and playing games. Always playing games. He and Aaron beat Patti and Grub in his last game of Smear.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rose Christie and his brother Lance Christie.

Drew is survived by his wife Patti Christie; sons, Aaron Christie and Drew "Grub" Christie; grandchildren, Alexandra and Hayden Christie; his brother and sisters-in-law, Buckley (Sherry) Simmons, Stephanie Marshall (Mike Adelson), Carol Christie; nieces and nephews; the mother of his children, Mary Jones; and his faithful dog Annie.

The family wishes to thank Drew’s caring and trusted doctor Krisa Christian and the staff of St. Luke’s for his care.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS GATHERING: 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue in Duluth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Disabled American Veterans organization of choice. Drew's smile lives on forever in our hearts.
