What are you most excited about this year: I am excited about having a really good teacher.

What activities are you involved in? I play the piano.

What has been your best experience in life so far: Entering a poetry contest and getting my poem published.

What is something most people at school don’t know about you? Most people don’t know I am part Norwegian.

What is your favorite app?I like the game “Balloon.”

What do you like the most about Facebook? I like that people can talk to each other and share pictures with their friends and family.

Why nominated? Fifth-grade teacher Mrs. Sachs writes, “Eiley is the model student. She is kind and loving to all, and she always tries her best.”

What class are you most excited about this year: English, because I have significantly improved this year.

What activities/sports are you involved in? 4-H, violin, volleyball and choir.

What has been your best experience in life so far: Having the opportunity to try out for the Minnesota Middle School Honors Orchestra.

What is something most people at school don’t know about you? I just finished a 2,000 piece puzzle that I have been working on for the past two years. The name of the puzzle is “Ebony and Ivory” (two cats on a piano) and I’m going to have it framed.

What do you like or dislike the most about Facebook? People can hack onto your account and change your profile.

Anything else you would like to share: I am very creative when it comes to designing/clashing colors together. I just finished splatter painting my bedroom.

Why nominated? English teacher Deb Fisher writes, “Ebony meets each and every assignment head on and with enthusiasm. She does her absolute best with each assignment, no matter what it is. We recently wrote a personal narrative and she had started on hers the minute I finished talking about it, even though we weren’t starting on them for a few days. Not only is she academically confident and a go-getter, she also possesses a very positive demeanor; she’s always cheerful and appears to be happily in charge of every single day. In addition, Ebony is very helpful, offering to pass back papers on a regular basis. I consider Ebony a gift in the classroom!”
