Finnegan Maki Borich
I WAS BORN: Aug. 21, 2012, in Allina Health-Cambridge (Minn.) Medical Center.
MY PARENTS ARE: Melissa and John Borich of Princeton, Minn.
MY SISTER IS: Adelynn, 2.
MY GRANDPARENTS ARE: Jerry and Kathy Maki of Hermantown and Susie and Ricky Borich of Duluth.
MY GREAT-GRANDPARENTS ARE: Judy and Jack Haverkamp of Darwin, Minn.; Eugene and Dorothy Maki of Hoyt Lakes; Jan and Ted Keppers and Donna Borich, all of Duluth; and the late Emil Borich.
MY PARENTS CHOSE THIS NAME BECAUSE: They chose “Finn” because they are very proud of my Finnish heritage. Finn also means “fair,” which is a great attribute. My middle name is Mom’s maiden name.
PARENTS’ WISH OR ADVICE: Lil Finn: Our wish for you is that you are always kind to others, offer forgiveness and grace, are full of Sisu, value family and put God first. We love you!
SOMETHING SPECIAL: The morning you were born, the surgeon told Dad he could peek over the curtain to see if you were a boy or a girl. After a few long seconds Dad shouted very loudly “It’s a booooooy!!” Everyone in the operating room laughed and clapped.
