JANICE E. (PAGE) DODGE

Janice E. (Page) Dodge, 75, of Primrose Retirement Community, Duluth, and formerly of Glacier Trail in Saginaw, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Janice E. (Page) Dodge, 75, of Primrose Retirement Community, Duluth, and formerly of Glacier Trail in Saginaw, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 28, 1937 in Duluth to Mildred (Meining) and Clarence Page.

Janice grew up in West Duluth and was a 1955 graduate of Denfeld High School. She married Vincent Anthony Dodge on Jan. 14, 1956. She was a Lakeside resident for 20 years. A Saginaw resident since 1979, Janice was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and a Job’s Daughter Queen. She had worked for Davidson Printing Company. Janice enjoyed being a den mother in Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed camping at Whiteface, fishing, reading, knitting, crocheting, walking, baking, jazz music, singing and her home, but most of all, Jan loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister Cynthia; and her granddaughter Cora Cayemberg.

Janice is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Vincent; her son Tony (Laura) of Minneapolis; her daughters: Gina (Bob) Wagner, Pam (Mark) Scanlon, Martina (Ed) Cayemberg, and Markalene (Doug) Anderson, all of Duluth; her sister Barb (Pete) Cummings; and her grandchildren: Nichole (Jesse) and Neil Slotness, Casey Cayemberg, Kyle, Kevin and Matt Scanlon, Brandon (Jessie), Josh (Kristi) and Cody Wagner, and Ross (Amy) and Scott Dodge, Stephanie, Angela and Kevin; great grandchildren, Rylynn, Lily, Jack and one on the way and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Primrose, Lakeshore Ecumen and St. Mary’s Hospice for their loving care of Jan.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Dougherty Funeral Home, where visitation will continue Thursday from 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. funeral services. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St., Duluth, 727-3555.
