MARILYN L. KRYSIAK

Marilyn L. Krysiak, 80, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Marilyn L. Krysiak, 80, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Marilyn was born on May 18, 1932 in Wakefield, Mich., the daughter of Mary and John Lepisto.

After graduation from high school, Marilyn came to Duluth to attend Duluth Business University. She went on to work for Bissonet-McKean insurance adjusters. Marilyn married Charles Krysiak on Aug. 31, 1955 in Wakefield. They lived their life and raised their three children in Duluth. Marilyn worked for Charles in his home accounting office and later worked for the Duluth school district eventually working as a secretary to the Superintendent of schools. Marilyn and Charles enjoyed spending the winters in Lake Havasu City in Arizona.

Marilyn was an avid reader, golfer, loved to cook, and enjoyed evening walks around her pond on Rice Lake, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Helvia Spaniak, Clyde Lepisto and Jack Lepisto.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Charles of Duluth; children, Susan (Mike) Horton of Clive, Iowa, and Mary Krysiak and John Krysiak, both of Duluth; five grandchildren, Cole, Kevin, and Natalie Horton and Jeremy and Madison Krysiak.

Marilyn's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Bickford Cottage in West Des Moines, Iowa for their excellent care of Marilyn.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Duluth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 410 N. Arlington Avenue, Duluth, MN 55811.
