ALICE ELIZABETH LAHTI

Alice Elizabeth Lahti, 97, of Virginia, died on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at St. Michael's Health & Rehabilitation Center in Virginia, Minn.

Alice was born on Oct. 4, 1915 in Forbes, Minn., to Matt and Elsie (Jarvinen) Henderickson.

She grew up and attended schools in Forbes and Cherry and graduated from Cherry High School.

On Sept. 9, 1934, in Eveleth, Minn., Alice was united in marriage to Eino W. Lahti. Alice was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church in Iron. She enjoyed making rag rugs, sewing, baking, cooking, dancing to Polkas, and spending time with family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eino; one granddaughter Kristin; three brothers; a step-father Joe Lake and a step-brother, Wilho.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol (Neil) Rule of Cloquet, Minn.; one son, Howard (Jodie) Lahti of Alpena, Mich.; four grandchildren, Russell (Ann), Denise (Barry), Dennis and Jolleen (Kurt); four great-grandchildren, Tasheana, Jeremiah, Cole, Olivia; two great-great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jolana; one niece, Judy (Ted) Oklobzija and other relatives and friends.
