The Minnesota Department of Transportation is reporting fair winter driving conditions across Northeastern Minnesota this morning.
There is drifting and blowing snow, areas of packed or icy snow, and slippery, wet and icy roads across the region, MnDOT reports.
Travelers will find generally fair winter driving conditions in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, too. But in East-Central Minnesota, travelers can expect to find hazardous or difficult conditions, with packed snow and slippery, wet and icy roads.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is reporting that roads are snow-covered and slippery across the northern half of the state.
On Sunday, Wisconsin State Patrol troopers responded to nearly 160 incidents of vehicles in ditches, including 17 property damage crashes and four injury-related crashes, in Northwestern Wisconsin.
Sunday’s number of incidents was average for snowstorms, State Patrol Commander Jeffrey Frenette said.
“However, that is still a significant number of vehicles that need attending to,” he said. “It is important for motorists to pay attention to weather forecasts and plan their trips accordingly, and in some cases that may mean just staying home.”
