Rick and Kathy Nelson of Duluth celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner party on Oct. 27 at the Scott House.

Rick and the former Kathy Pulczinski were married Oct. 28, 1972, in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Duluth.

Their children are Lisa and Joel Greer of Peoria, Ariz., and Krista and Ryan Blomquist of Hermantown. They have four grandchildren.

Rick is retired from FedEx and the Duluth Transit Authority in Duluth. Kathy works as a grant administrator for Proctor Public Schools.

Secret to staying married: Being best friends, sharing common interests, and making memories together and cherishing them.
