Margaret “Margo” Overlie, 69, of Duluth, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at the Lakeshore Fountains Rehabilitation Center with her family at her side.

Margaret “Margo” Overlie, 69, of Duluth, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at the Lakeshore Fountains Rehabilitation Center with her family at her side.

Margo was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Duluth, to Harold and Mary Wegmiller. She attended Denfeld High School graduating in 1960.

Margo worked at her career as a cook at various jobs throughout the city of Duluth. She was a dedicated and valued employee with all. Margo was married to Jim Overlie for the past 29 years.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, skills she learned from her mother, and donated many of her items to hospitals, nursing homes and others. Margo was known for her interest in plants and flowers. She was an excellent cook and loved to spend late nights in the spring and fall in her screened porch (no mosquitoes).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Margo is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters Kelly Evans of McIntosh, Minn., and Michelle Evans of Superior; son Scott Evans of Faribault, Minn.; brother Donald (Jan) Wegmiller of Eden Prairie, Minn.; step-daughters Leah and Laurie; grandchildren Tyler (Kelly) Evans of Jordan, Minn., Kendrall Evans of Faribault, Hillary Evans of Faribault, and Catrina (Chuck) Wuolu, Ashley (Ryan Katzmark) Evans and Morgan Johnson, all of Superior; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family deeply appreciates the outstanding care given to Margo by the great staff at Lakeshore Fountains during the last weeks of her life.

Memorials may be made to donor’s organization or to James Overlie who will choose an organization on behalf of Margo.

A GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 1 until the 2 p.m. celebration of her life Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., (218) 624-5200.
