A Minneapolis author who experienced profound hearing loss in her left ear in four hours will sign copies of her book, “What Did You Say?” on Saturday in Duluth.
Monique Hammond, a former pharmacist, wrote her book as a result of the frustrations she experienced in getting answers to her questions about her sudden hearing loss, according to her publicist. Her book, which was released in March, is billed as “an easy-to-
understand information guide” that is written “from the personal perspective of one who understands the emotional struggle of losing such a precious gift.”
The book-signing will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the Duluth Barnes & Noble in Miller Hill Mall. It is being conducted in partnership with the Friends of the Duluth Public Library book fair. Hammond will speak with shoppers about important hearing-loss topics, answer their questions and provide prevention tips and coping resources.
