Donald A. Montgomery, Sr., 92, dear husband and loving father passed away Nov. 14, 2012.
He was born Oct. 8, 1920 to the late Allen Grant and Maude Bertha Montgomery in Duluth, and lived there until coming to Indianapolis in 1989.
He served in both the National Guard and the Army, in the 125th Field Artillery, 34th Infantry Division during World War II from 1941 - 1945 on the front line in Italy, Africa and France.
He was a self- employed printer for 25 years, retiring in 1983.
He was an avid golfer and pool player, winning the 13th annual Duluth Senior 8 Billiard Ball City Championship in 1987.
He had such a good, kind heart that his family and friends can attest to. His sense of humor will never be forgotten.
He was married to Jeanette Haley for 36 years.
He was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge and Governor of Moose Lodge 505 for five years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in both Duluth and Indianapolis. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frances Leroy Montgomery; and sisters Margaret Lunholm and Alene Cavalier.
Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years Lynette Aurelia Koval; daughter Kim Randolph; sons Donald Allen Montgomery, Robert Grant Montgomery, Brian Haley Montgomery and seven grandchildren, as well as a brother, Robert Lausen Montgomery.
MEMORIAL SERVICES: will not be held. Donald will be laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery at Marion, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW. Condolences may be sent to Konkle Funeral Home, 4925 W. 16th Street, Speedway, IN 46224
