Heart challenge deadline nears

Friday is the final day to apply for the Go Red For Women Makeover Challenge.

The 10 women chosen will participate in a heart-makeover challenge presented by Essentia Health and Super One Foods, according to a news release from the American Heart Association.

Each participant will take part in an initial wellness screening where height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and other heart health numbers will be measured. Then they’ll track their progress using social media and showcase their successes at the Northland Go Red For Women Luncheon on March 6 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

Applicants selected to participate will be notified by Dec. 5 and the kickoff will be Dec. 17.
