The Experimental City would be a joint public-private venture with a population of 250,000 people located at least an hour from any metropolitan area.
News Tribune, Nov. 12, 1992Lakes and rivers in three northern Wisconsin counties contain contaminated fish, according to a report by the state Department of Natural Resources. Tests indicate the designated fish contain unacceptable levels of polychlorinated biphenyls, commonly called PCBs, and mercury, the report says.A state-by-state analysis of public health issued by the American Public Health Association lists Minnesota and Wisconsin as two of the nation’s three leading states in binge drinking. Twenty-one percent of Minnesotans 18 and older qualify as binge drinkers, according to the report.
