Readers’ view: Hall will support mining and lower taxes

Even when the mining industry has completed and passed all environmental tests, we have some County Board members still against mining. It is very essential for us to elect people to the County Board who have an understanding of how mining is critical to our economy.

Good-paying jobs and tax relief are very essential. I know as I have a second home in northern St. Louis County and also many friends who rely on the mining industry. It seems some of the commissioners feel their opinion trumps the toughest Environmental Protection Agency tests, which are based on the latest science. It is unfair that citizens of St. Louis County have to pay higher property taxes and stretch their budgets. Personal ideology should never come before the needs of our county citizens.

Becky Hall supports tourism, transportation, mining and timber harvesting. Hall has a background in job development as an economic representative for the state of Minnesota. And she will work hard to support mining, timber, transportation, tourism and all other businesses in our county.

Vote Becky Hall for St. Louis County commissioner in the 2nd District.
