ELLEN MAE SCHOLAR BORICH

Ellen Mae Scholar Borich passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.

Ellen Mae was born on March 10, 1914 in Eveleth, Minn. She was the oldest of 13 children born to her parents, Harry Scholar and Sarah Jane (Champion) Scholar.

She graduated from Hamline University with a teaching degree in English, and taught in the Alborn, Brookston, and AlBrook schools.

Ellen Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Borich in 1965; her parents; two sisters and seven brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Tuominen; son Brian (Marilyn) Borich; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, and from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 3 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave. Burial will be at Sunrise Cemetery. Memorials to Solvay Hospice House will be appreciated.
