The American Heart Association is looking for 10 Northland women to participate in its fourth heart makeover.

In a news release, the nonprofit said the women who are chosen for the Go Red For Women Makeover Challenge will take part in 10 weeks of the following:

* An initial wellness screening during which height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and other heart-health numbers will be measured.

* Access to a fitness facility and medical professionals from Essentia Health and St. Luke’s.

* Tracking their progress via social media.

It all culminates with their success stories at the ninth-annual Northland Go Red For Women Luncheon on March 6 at the Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth.

Applications for the challenge, which is presented by Essentia Health and SuperOne Foods, must be postmarked or received by Nov. 16. Those who are selected will be notified by Dec. 5, and the challenge will begin with a kickoff on Dec. 17.

Those with questions should call Tom Skull at (218) 727-7297.
