When you grocery shop for your own family Oct. 27, shop for another one, too.
Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., participate in the annual Share Food Drive to help restock local food shelves by donating food or cash. You will receive a list of items to buy at the following stores: Mount Royal Fine Foods, Cub Foods, Whole Foods Co-op, Homecroft Supervalu, Super One Foods in Duluth and Cloquet and Cloquet Walmart. Shoppers are asked to buy a couple of items from the list and give them to volunteers when they leave the store.
The food will go to CHUM’s Duluth Emergency Food Shelf, the Salvation Army, the Union Gospel Mission and the Hermantown Food Shelf. Those who can’t shop that day can donate nonperishable items to 120 N. First Ave. W. or 4831 Grand Ave. CHUM is seeking volunteers to transport and sort food beginning at 9 a.m.
