BARBARA GAIL (RICCIO) KUKICH

Barbara Gail (Riccio) Kukich, 75 of Lakeside died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 in her home, surrounded by her family.

Barb was born on June 10, 1937 in Cook, Minn., to Anthony and Beatrice Riccio.

They moved to Keewatin and she graduated from Keewatin High School. Barb married Dan Kukich in Keewatin on June 16, 1956 and they moved to Duluth in 1960.

She retired from the Public Defenders Office as a legal secretary.

Barb was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was all about family and friends. She loved to sew, knit and read. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her Dan of 52 years; parents, Anthony and Beatrice.

Barb is survived by her children, Cathy (Mike) Mennes, Susan (Mark) Furo, both of Duluth, Tony (Amy Wilkerson) Kukich of St. Paul, and Dana (Perry) Ludwig of Duluth; Dearest friend, Paula Hall of Duluth; grandchildren, David and Sarah Mennes, Jesse and Joby Furo, Sam and Danny Ludwig and Frances Kukich; brother, Gerald Riccio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Kukich.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff in Memory Care at Lakeshore and St. Mary’s Hospice.

VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday, from 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 4901 E Superior St. Interment at Park Hill Cemetery.
