Colleen Rose Patrick, Gods little Irish Angel went home to be with her Lord and Savior Oct. 9, 2012. Colleen was surrounded by her family and friends at the time of her death.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1939 in Tomahawk, Wis., and later moved to Duluth.
At the age of 17 she met the love of her life David, and they were united in marriage in 1957 in The Holy Rosary Chapel. They raised five children. Colleen attended Sacred Heart and Cathedral High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church. Colleen worked for Bowman Corporation, JC Penny, Plaza National as Deli Manager, and the Observation Daycare Center, retiring in 2005 from Super One Bakery Dept.
Anyone who knew Colleen was fortunate enough to be one of her adopted children. She loved everyone as if they were her own. Colleen was one of the most compassionate people in the world and was always there with a shoulder to lean on. She was known for her ditties, great sense of humor, quick one liners and comebacks. Colleen valued the sanctity of life and her strong relationship with God. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Catherine Dolan; in-laws, Leo and Thelma Patrick; siblings, Norman, Norma, Billy, Lloyd, Irene, May, James, Evelyn (Stubby), Violet and Jack.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David L. Patrick, Sr.; sister Jean (Stanley) Koski; sister-in-law Delores Dolan; brother-in-law Robert (Camille) Patrick; children Debbie (Dennis Bowen) Patrick, David Patrick, Jr. (Rhonda), Dawn (Rob Hilde) Camps, Denise (Tim) Couture, Cathy (Erik) Patrick-Olson; grandchildren Kristy (Kris), Jamie, Breanne, Travis, Marissa, Kayleigh, and Dolan; great grandchildren Sophie, Emmett, Taylor, Kelis; and many nieces, nephews, dear friends and special dog Minnie Chocolate Chip.
She will be sadly missed by all but will forever remain in our hearts. The family would like to give special thanks to the amazing staff and physicians of 3 East Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital.
VISITATION: 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service Monday, Oct. 15, in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave.
