ELIZABETH HALLER
Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Haller, 61, of McGregor, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, surrounded by her devoted husband and children in St. Luke’s hospital in Duluth. She went out of this world with as much spirit and spunk as she had when she lived in it.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 3, 1950, in Duluth, the daughter of Alvin and Ruth Holmes (Shepard). She graduated from Cathedral High School in Duluth. Elizabeth married John Haller in 1970 in Duluth, and they were married for 42 years. She spent her life caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.
Elizabeth enjoyed watching her Vikings games, cooking, baking, gardening, canning, crocheting, crafts, listening to the loons, and watching her birds, especially those hummers. She also loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Holmes.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, John J. Haller; her daughters, Melissa (Ryan) of Duluth, Jennifer (Tom) of Superior, and Jacquelyn of Duluth; son Clinton (Maria) of Duluth; her grandchildren that she loved so dearly, Steven, Stephanie, Jordan, and Bailey; great-grandchild Ashton; siblings Phyllis of Duluth, Tom of Jacksonville, Fla., Kathie of New York, and Joan and Dick, both of Duluth; and many “furry” grandchildren that she loved spending time with.
Elizabeth and her family also want to extend a special thanks to Dr. McDonald, Dr. Mueller and the staff of P.S. Rudie and Associates. They also wish to thank Dr. Popham and the St. Luke’s staff who took such wonderful care of her.
At Elizabeth’s request, a private service will be held for her immediate family at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota, (218) 624-5200.
