Katherine “Kay” A. MacGillivray, 71, of Proctor passed away Oct. 5, 2012, in St. Mary’s hospice surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Katherine “Kay” A. MacGillivray, 71, of Proctor passed away Oct. 5, 2012, in St. Mary’s hospice surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kay grew up in Duluth, daughter of Leonard and Elsie (Pearl) Wellington. She married Roger and celebrated 51 years together. They resided in Proctor and raised a family of three girls.

Kay enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cabin, many years of stock car racing at Proctor Speedway and around the U.S. She always had a great sense of humor and many friends.

Kay loved working for the Proctor School Board as facilities coordinator and enjoyed a life of faith and volunteerism at St. Rose Parish and director of Proctor Food Shelf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Elsie; stepmother Pearl; and daughter Shelly.

Kay is survived by her husband Roger; daughters Brenda and Dory (Jim) Guzik; grandchildren Jake and Anjelica; and beloved dog Roxie.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the loving, exceptional care given at St. Mary’s hospice.

VISITATION: 12 noon until the 1 p.m. service Tuesday, Oct. 9, in St. Rose Church in Proctor. Private internment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Rose Church of Proctor or Proctor Food Shelf.
