Reader's view: Politicians need to get back to the issues
As I listen to these politicians promising the world and then after being elected forgetting about the American people I see clearly the need to get rid of the millionaires’ club in Washington.
As I listen to these politicians promising the world and then after being elected forgetting about the American people I see clearly the need to get rid of the millionaires’ club in Washington. American people are dumb to keep electing these guys. When new ones are elected, they forget the promises and join the good-old-boys’ club. It all comes down to the two g’s: greed and green.
A few years back, Nikita Khrushchev said you don’t have to attack America; it will destroy itself. I believe he was right. I believe these politicians are un-American. Why isn’t there compromise instead of playing politics? They need to start doing what they were elected to do: represent the American people.
What a wonderful world it would be if all world leaders would get together instead of launching wars and struggling for power.
Maybe the government should go back and create jobs as it did with the Works Progress Administration. That saved a lot of people.
I don’t know how many years I have left at age 82. I feel sorry for my 12 grandchildren given the way government operates.
Quit playing politics and get to the issues.
