Sweet Sour Ribs

1 1/2 to 2 lbs. spare ribs

1/3 c. flour

1/3 c. soy sauce

1/3 c. vinegar

1 1/2 c. water

1/2 c. brown sugar

1 tsp. salt, optional

1 T. oil

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 inch piece of ginger, crushed

Chop the spare ribs into small pieces, about 1½- to 2-inch pieces. Mix the flour and soy sauce in a large bowl. Add the ribs and stir to coat them. Let stand for 30 minutes. Heat the oil in a roasting pan. Add the garlic and ginger. Brown the ribs. Add the vinegar, water, salt and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, turn heat to medium low and simmer for 90 minutes. Serve over rice.

Rolled Up Pizza

1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed or homemade bread dough

pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce (I use Hunt’s spaghetti sauce)

1 lb. Italian sauce, hot or mild

8 oz. pkg. pepperoni

1 onion, chopped

1 lb. shredded mozzarella cheese

Brown the sausage with the chopped onion. Drain the grease and place on paper towel to absorb as much of the grease as possible. Roll out the bread dough into a 10-by-18-inch rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the sauce on sparingly. Sprinkle on sausage. Add pepperoni and then the mozzarella. Carefully roll up the pizza like a jelly roll and place on a cookie sheet. Brush the dough with oil if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until nicely browned. Slice while still warm.
