JANETTE A. TALLEY

Janette A. Talley, 89, Coleraine, died on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 in her home.

Born May 24, 1923 in Concordia, Kan., she was the daughter of Edward J. and Louisa (Poole) Christensen.

Janette graduated from high school in Smith Center, Kan., attended Ottawa Baptist University in Ottawa, Kan., and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Huron College in Huron, S.D. Janette and Tyra Talley were married on March 12, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Janette had been a church musician and organist from her teen years up to this past November, was active in her children’s community activities, including Cub Scouts, and had been very active in many facets of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Tyra; her children, Mischelle Binder of Coleraine, Dee E. (Kelly) Talley of Milwaukee, Wis., C. Arlin (Carolyn) Talley of Bovey, and Doug (Chris Raso-Talley) Talley of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 in the Community Presbyterian Church of Grand Rapids. There will be a time of fellowship with the family following the service.
