FRAIDA "FRITZIE" PASSON

Fraida "Fritzie" Passon, 98, died peacefully while surrounded by her devoted and loving family on Sept. 23, 2012.

Fraida "Fritzie" Passon, 98, died peacefully while surrounded by her devoted and loving family on Sept. 23, 2012.

Born in Minneapolis, she married Dr. Morris Passon in 1942 and resided in Duluth until 1985 when they retired to St Paul.

Fritzie was active in Duluth Jewish women's organizations. An outstanding homemaker, she was known for her cooking, baking, entertaining, and beautiful style. Fritzie's greatest pride was her precious family.

Fritzie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morrie; her parents, Mayer and Lillian Brickman; her siblings, Mike (Sarah), Babe (Sarah), Beverly Kaplan (Ben), Honey Learman (Al), Morris, Sudie Gleeman (Irving), and Rhea Gold (Max); and sisters-in-law, Elsie Mastoon and Lillian Saffron (Art).

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Passon-McNally (Bernie) and Susan Taran (Barry); grandchildren, Jess Taran (Elizabeth), Matt Taran (Kristy), and Syril Passon McNally; great-grandsons, Max, Elliot, and Benjamin; and her sister-in-law, Pearl Goldman. She is also survived by numerous cousins and very special cousin, Shirley Rothstein.

Fritzie was the proud aunt of 18 nieces and nephews, 33 great-nieces and nephews, 41 great-great nieces and nephews, and eight great-great-great nieces and nephews.

The family profoundly thanks and appreciates the tender care provided by the Sholom Home West staff for the past eight years.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 12 Noon Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Adas Israel Cemetery, 1400 Howard Gnesen Rd, Duluth MN 55803

SHIVA: 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, with a service at 3 p.m. in the Sholom Home West, 3620 Phillips Pkwy, St Louis Park MN 55416
